An Unforeseen Hazard of the Sea

is that you might accrue a fan club of crazed old women.

Seru again

Here’s Seru Saumakidonu: divemaster, reef guardian, and one of the crew that sailed this vaka, Uto Ni Yalo, from Fiji via New Zealand and Hawai’i to where this was taken, San Francisco Bay. The fleet of six vaka then sailed south to Monterey, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

You can see one of Uto Ni Yalo’s sister vaka in the background. Not very big, is it? An incredible voyage by incredible people.

Well, I think he’s cute too. By which I really mean: major respect to and total Aloha spirit radiating from this guy, and the whole crew.
