It’s only January and I’ve seen the music video of the year:

I have seen the future* and it sucks.

(German subtitles weren’t in TV original.)

*Strictly personal. If I’m lucky, apparently.

ron ron ron ron ron!  this is hilarious.  when are they going to open the rock ‘n roll camp nursing facility?

i hope you don’t mind if i pass this along to my friend mary, whose dad’s having a rough time, and she is in a certain rung of hell herself over which shoe will drop next.

Oh, by all means. I can relate.

I wasn’t able to see the rock ‘n roll camp nursing facility, but it put me in mind of a science fiction story where they wall off Florida and force all the boomers into it.  The government drops bales of food supplies and weed from helicopters.  It seems nobody could stand listening to their music any longer…

what’s funny is that my son [22] is a huge fan of the ramones; he’s also been building a collection of old skool vinyl albums. he might be tempted to ship me to florida, but i’m pretty sure he’d cut a deal with anyone owning a decent collection.

the performers linked are in a senior citizens’ chorus.  i was poking around and found a clip with some of them, and a couple mentioned that in earlier years, their connection with some of the music they sing now was yelling at their kids to turn that crap down.  they look like they’re having a grand time!

Yeah—it’s a clip from an indie movie, Young at Heart, which the various PBS stations have been running and re-running lately. They do a nice job on “Life in Wartime” too.

The Ramones didn’t know the half of it, but these folks do.
