Thank you! Joe did that bottle-tree piece, basically; he got a wild hair and banged it out in a day, and I took photos. There are more shots on my Flickr stream; I’ll post a link or three here RSN. It was inspired by another Flickr member’s pix of a bottle tree in Albany. We got a nice email from the owner of the blue one that sfgate, or the Chron anyway, showed. Turns out he’s from North Carolina and brought the custom from there. So did Joe, kind of… Picked it up in his poli-sci studies—which turned to a specialty in “development” in Francophone Africa—as well as from the folks back home. He did his undergrad work at UNC-Chapel Hill.

He had to flash a little scholarship at the new new editor to get her to accept some of his data and spellings. Heh.

I’m not on Facebook. Should I be? I’m on MySpace at the behest of a couple of rellies, but I rarely remember to look there and it’s damned near painful visually.

Um, I do Twitter sometimes tho’.
