On the way up to the Delta yesterday, we passed a Clover Dairy truck with the usual big painting of Clo the Cow on the side. She was shown in a meadow of ripe grain. Caption: “Catch her in the rye.”

Rilly. I don’t know how fast they do these things, but I do think the odds are that it got painted before he died.
Kage Baker died over the weekend. Will people just kindly quit doing that please?

Kage Baker???????? She’s nowhere near old enough for that! Crap, no I’ll never know how that whole thing ends…

Tell me about it. She was just about Kevin’s age.
She did write the end of the Company series, though, and we have a copy. I didn’t like it quite so much as the beginning—which leaves a lot of “like” space, still—but there’s no way I could skip it. I’d be glad to lend it once you’ve read everything else… Or any of the several others we have.
If you mean the Stag’s Anvil series, well, maybe we’re both SOL.
