Snakes never seemed very judgmental to me. ‘Sides, you move so much faster, you’re bound to be interesting!

Try wearing some eau d’rat or for real excitement, some eau d’agouti! You know I occasionally put something with a new scent in snakes cages: lemon peel, lavender, sage, a piece of onion or ginger, ... You could ‘scent’ yourself with any number of things.
Fight ophidian ennui! It takes scents!

I suppose that makes scents… OTOH, do you really want to chance irritating the snake?

Well, the worst Shep will do is roll up in a ball.
I was thinking of putting a rat in an old sock by way of environmental enrichment but then I saw a pic of a bigger python who’d ingested a bath towel. Evidently it didn’t agree with him, poor thing.

i still owe you that fish stocking. haven’t forgotten—it is hanging prominently from a shelf—but we’ll be away to the end of the month and i did not yet put it in the mail. on the other hand, you won’t need it until at least thanksgiving, unless you are a sight weirder about the holidays than i think.
